Event Description

  • The MiniBot Competition is a multi-week program concluding in a final event, where high school teams design, build, and compete in 2vs2 matches using customizable MiniBots to tackle specific tasks for glory and hands-on experience in robotics. This event is similar in format to the FIRST Robotics Competitions. Open to high school students aged 14-18, the event welcomes both robotics team members and individual enthusiasts. Teams may consist of one or two students, each responsible for building a MiniBot. Registration is via a Google form. The registration fee covers a basic MiniBot kit and team entry to the competition.

    • Upon kickoff, teams receive a MiniBot kit with a web interface control, game description, sample game elements, and competition rules. Also teams receive a $10 voucher for Lord of Robots' 3D printing services for each team to use on their MiniBot customizations. Support is provided through bi-weekly in-person workshops and through the LoR Discord server platform. Teams will compete in task-specific matches, with prizes for winners (yet to be announced).


      • The MiniBots platform is open-source and customizable, allowing various materials and manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing and CNC machining and handcrafted. All modifications must comply with a set of rules; such as size, weight, and electronic components. 

      Registration Fee (for MiniBot kit and competition entry)

      • $60 per team(Covers competition team registration and a basic MiniBot kit.

      Kit Components

      • Wheels and Motors: The kit includes 4 wheels coupled with motors.
      • Electronics Pack: LoR_Core Control Module (A central control unit) with supporting electronics and wires.
      • Basic Robot Frame: 3D printed parts and fasteners. A foundational structure for assembling the MiniBot.
